First look at menu for new Ephesus Cafe in Ashburn

Ephesus Cafe is a new Turkish and Mediterranean restaurant coming to the heart of the Old Ashburn neighborhood. And now, we’ve got a first look at the menu and even a planned opening date.

The Burn first reported on Ephesus last month when we explained how Oxus 7 — a different Turkish restaurant — had reportedly been purchased by the owners of Anatolian Bistro, a Turkish restaurant in Herndon.

The new restaurant is located at 20937 Ashburn Road, No. 125 — and the new owners are giving the restaurant a different name and menu.

The name is still a bit of a mystery. The restaurant’s website and menu read just plain Ephesus. A sign on the door said Efesus Cafe with an “f” instead of a “ph.” The website URL is efesuscafe.com, but the restaurant’s email says “ephesuscafe.”

Regardless, the menu displayed on the website looks great. Starters include a Yayla Soup, made with yogurt, mint, and rice; and Spicy Ezme, which is a fiery blend of tomatoes, peppers, and herbs.

Entrees include a Lamb Shank, served with roasted eggplant and fluffy rice; a Spicy Chicken Bow Tie Pasta; and a Chicken Adana Kebab. You can see the full Ephesus menu below.

As far as when the new restaurant plans to open — a countdown timer on the website is ticking away towards a Tuesday, January 2 opening — one month from today.
