New in NoVa: Innovative new restaurant Surreal opens in Arlington

A surreal new restaurant has opened in Arlington’s National Landing area. And we say “surreal” because that’s the name of it.

Surreal, which opened Friday, is a new restaurant from Enrique Limardo, a Michelin-starred chef and a James Beard 2023 semifinalist. It’s located at 2117 Crystal Drive.

“The line between reality and what is not is so fine that we do not see it — we cross it and without thinking about it — we immerse ourselves in a fantasy from which it is almost impossible to wake up,” the restaurant’s website reads.

To this end, the Latin-themed menu includes creatively strange dishes such as “Queso Fundido” Shakshuka for breakfast and plates like Swordfish Carpaccio with “Flaming Hot Totopos,” and a “Twisted Foot Long Hotdog” for lunch and dinner.

Surreal also offers a grab-and-go section with sandwiches, pasta sauces, fresh baked items, juices, and more. You can see the full Surreal menu — including all-day items, dinner items, and drinks — below.
