Sneak peek inside Ometeo Tex Mex restaurant in Tysons

Ometeo, the new upscale Tex Mex restaurant at the Capital One Center in Tysons held a sneak preview event Monday evening and The Burn was there.

The official opening day was advertised as tomorrow — Wednesday — but we’ll let you in on a little scoop — they are actually open tonight — Tuesday, December 5 — if you’re in the area.

Some of the spread at the Ometeo sneak preview party.

The Burn first told you about the Ometeo last week including a first look at the restaurant’s menu. Ometeo is the latest restaurant from Long Shot Hospitality. The others are two locations of the oyster bar The Salt Line, and the New Orleans-themed Dauphine’s.

One of the partners with Long Shot — Jon Ball — is also the owner of Ashburn’s own Lost Fox Hideaway at One Loudoun.

The menu at Ometeo is upscale or “elevated” cuisine inspired by Texas and Mexico. The restaurant’s team have cheekily called it a “texmexeria.”

At the preview party, guests sampled cocktails from both the downstairs and upstairs bars. We can personally recommend the Doble Chile, a spicy margarita with tequila, genepy, fuji apple, chile poblano, chile morita, and lime.

Besides the large wrap-around bar, there are several dining rooms on the main floor, plus outdoor seating that includes a separate sidewalk pavilion with its own bar as well.

Upstairs, there is a more intimate lounge space with a balcony overlooking the restaurant below. It features its own bar and looks like the perfect spot for private events.

Ometeo is just one of a slew of new restaurants headed to the burgeoning Capital One Center in Tysons. It’s already home to the much-lauded new restaurant Wren. Meanwhile, Star Hill Brewpub, Ox & Rye, Sisters Thai Tysons, and Stellina Pizzeria are all slated to open there in 2024.
