Cubasi Bistro moving from Sterling to Ashburn

Some big news for fans of Cuban food. Cubasi Bistro — an authentic Cuban restaurant in Sterling — is moving to a new location in Ashburn.

The Burn has learned that Cubasi Bistro will be taking a space in the Moorefield Village retail center. That’s at the corner of Loudoun County Parkway and Ryan Road.

To help you place this center, it’s the same one where there is a former Harris Teeter grocery store that has sat vacant since it closed in 2020.

Cubasi will be going into the spot next to the Domino’s Pizza.

Cubasi Bistro first made headlines back in 2019 when it opened in the Dulles 28 Centre off Pacific Boulevard. (They also opened a location in Bethesda, Md. in 2022, but that outlet is listed as temporarily closed online.)

Known for its large portions, local Cuban-Americans quickly gave a thumbs up to the roast pork, the ropa vieja, the tostones, the black beans and rice, and the many other dishes on the Cubasi menu.

Now that menu — which you can see below — is coming to Ashburn. We’re told that one of the reasons they are relocating the restaurant is cost — the new location is less expensive then their current spot.

No word yet on when the current location will close and when the new location will open.

The deal is brand new, so they still need to do the build-out on the Moorefield Village space to turn it into the latest version of Cubasi Bistro. Look for it sometime in early- to mid-2024.
