Thieves drive car through front of Leesburg gun shop

In the past, The Burn has reported on occasional accidents when someone hits the gas instead of the brakes and goes through the front door of a coffee shop. That’s not what happened early Thursday morning in Leesburg.

According to the Leesburg Police Department, around 4 a.m. four crooks rammed a 4-door Kia sedan into the Loudoun Guns store on Industrial Court SE.

Then four masked individuals hopped out of the car and entered the building through the smashed doorway. They proceeded to steal multiple guns — specifically long guns, which are usually rifles and shotguns.

The vehicle itself — which had been reported stolen prior to the incident — was described by police as “lodged in the building,” so perhaps that’s why the burglars fled on foot. Either that or they always intended to leave it behind.

The incident remains under investigation by the Leesburg Police Department. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact Detective Kadric at 703-771-4500 or at .
