South Block — the fast-casual açai bowl and smoothie restaurant — is working on a new location inside Dulles International Airport.
The new spot will be a roughly 650 s.f. spot located in Terminal D.
South Block is a growing brand here in the DMV. They currently have 15 locations in the market, including one at One Loudoun in Ashburn. That store opened a year ago — in January 2023.
The new IAD location will be the brand’s first inside an airport, which is often a whole different ballgame compared to a retail spot in a shopping center.
The government or quasi-government agencies that run airports — along with agencies like the TSA — have different rules and regulations for vendors on airport property.
