Carrabba’s Italian Grill in Reston part of nationwide closures

Readers of The Burn know that the Bonefish Grill in Ashburn closed over the weekend and now we’re hearing that the Carrabba’s Italian Grill in Reston closed too.

The location has been removed from the Carrabba’s website and the Google listing says “Permanently Closed.”

Both Carrabba’s and Bonefish are part of the Bloomin’ Brands parent company, which also includes Outback Steahouse and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse.

Friday night into Saturday, the company closed a reported 33 restaurants across their brands. Online reports say several other Bloomin’ restaurants around the DMV also closed.

The Carrabba’s — which was located at 12192 Sunset Hills Road — has been around for some two decades or more. An exact opening date wasn’t available.

The closings reportedly targeted underperforming stores and included many that had leases originally signed in the 1990s or early 2000s. Both the Reston Carrabba’s and the Ashburn Bonefish Grill fit into that category.
