Today is officially Day 1 of construction on the new Ford’s Fish Shack coming to the South Riding/Chantilly area of southern Loudoun County.
Mighty machines are at work at the East Gate Marketplace shopping plaza, turning over the earth as what’s often known as “site work” gets underway.
This is where any needed utilities are put in underground (if they aren’t already there) and the land is prepared for a foundation to be poured.
As regular readers of The Burn know, Ford’s Fish Shack closed its nearby location at the South Riding Market Square last summer. That space is being turned into a new Sense of Thai St. restaurant similar to the one at One Loudoun in Ashburn.
The Ford’s team is constructing a new building at East Gate that will have room for one or two other retailers in addition to the new Ford’s Fish Shack.
With work officially underway, we’re told that Ford’s hopes to hold a grand opening for its new location sometime this fall.
