An interesting new upscale business is opening in Ashburn next week. It’s called Purple Hamper and it aims to solve some — or all — of your laundry problems.
Purple Hamper has announced it’s opening on Monday, April 8. It’s located in the Broadlands Village Center at the intersection of Claiborne Parkway and Broadlands Boulevard.
At first blush, Purple Hamper appears like a typical laudromat — with a row of washers and a row of dryers. But it’s offering quite a bit more than that — including picking up your laundry and dropping off clean and ready to go.
The Purple Hamper space has oversized machines for people who need to launder large and bulky objects. It has a steam press cabinet for refreshing lightly worn garments.
And it has wi-fi and seating so you can bring your computer and do some work while waiting for your loads to finish.
Purple Hamper is also a full-service laundry service. You can bring a big bag of your laundry and drop it off. They will wash, dry, and fold it for you and having it waiting when you are ready to pick up.
And they offer a pickup and delivery service too where they come to your home, take your clothing to be laundered, and then return it all neat and folded.
The Ashburn facility is the first Purple Hamper anywhere. It’s a new concept and the owners hope to expand with additional locations.
