The Ballpark Loudoun is gone, volleyball and gymnastics on the way

The Ballpark Loudoun — a big indoor baseball facility in Ashburn with batting cages and a restaurant — has closed permanently.

It’s unfortunately not a surprise. Back in December, The Ballpark — located in the Lexington 7 center off Riverside Parkway — filed for bankruptcy protection. At the time, they hoped to reorganize and stay open, but clearly things did not work out.

A sign on the door reads, in part: “…The Ballpark is currently closed by order of the US Bankruptcy Court. Thank you to all our loyal customers for your support during this difficult period.”

Inside, all The Ballpark’s equipment and furnishings remain — but not for long. A new tenant has already leased the space.

The Burn has learned that the Libero Volleyball Club and the Hope Gymnastics Academy will be moving from their current location on Cape Court in Ashburn and taking over the Ballpark space.

The Ballpark opened to much fanfare back in the summer of 2022, offering both high-tech skills training for baseball players, and a relaxed batting cage experience with food and drinks for groups of friends, similar in vein to what Topgolf did with golf.
