Sun Country Airlines begins flights to Dulles International

Dulles International Airport is celebrating the first flight from the latest airline to fly to and from IAD. It’s called Sun Country Airlines and it will provide direct flights between the nation’s capital and Minneapolis-St. Paul.

The first flight took off yesterday — Wednesday, April 10 — and marks the start of three flights weekly between IAD and MSP during the spring.

That number will rise to six flights weekly in the summer, and then go to four flights weekly in the fall.

Sun Country — which is a Minneapolis-based low cost carrier — is the 42nd airline currently flying in and out of Dulles International.
