Five years after it first opened, a large indoor ropes course gym has closed its doors permanently in Loudoun County. Summit Ropes is no more.
The facility — located at 44810 Old Ox Road near the Dulles Greenway — first opened in 2019 and billed itself as the “largest indoor ropes adventure in the U.S.”
It featured various levels of rope courses — rope ladders and walkways and other obstacles that climbers traversed several stories in the air.
“Summit Ropes has permanently closed,” the company’s website reads. “Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to shut down operations.”
We aren’t certain precisely when Summit Ropes closed — sometimes these things slip by us. It looks like it may have been in March.
