La Taqueria hangs sign in front of new Leesburg restaurant

The authentic street taco restaurant known as La Taqueria is getting closer to opening its doors in downtown Leesburg. The building is getting a paint job and the shingle sign has gone up out front.

As The Burn initially reported back in March, La Taqueria is taking over the building at 15 Loudoun Street SE. That’s the former site of Buford’s Biscuits, before that establishment made its recent move a few blocks away to West Market Street.

Besides the requisite tacos on the menu at La Taqueria, there will also be specials such as the Pambazo — a torta filled with potato, Mexican chorizo, lettuce, sour cream and queso fresco, dipped in red salsa.

There are also Molletes — bolillo rolls smothered with refried beans and melty chihuahua cheese, topped off with pico de gallo.

An official opening date is still pending, but right now, the owners are aiming for the end of this month or early May.
