Ford’s Fish Shack closing South Riding location ahead of big move

Ford’s Fish Shack has announced that they will close their longtime South Riding location on July 25 as they prepare to move to a new and larger building a couple of miles away.

The Burn was the first media outlet to break the news about Ford’s plans in a report last December.

The popular seafood restaurant’s current location is in the South Riding Market Square, just south of Highway 50 off Loudoun County Parkway.

They are moving to a new location in the East Gate Marketplace shopping center. That’s at the intersection of Highway 50 and Tall Cedars Parkway.

Ford’s will be constructing a roughly 14,000 s.f. building at the new center that will be shared by Ford’s Fish Shack and several other tenants. Ford’s is taking about 6,000 s.f. and the other 8,000 s.f. will be leased out.

Here’s a look at the sign that will be going up at the new site any day now with a glimpse at what the future building will look like.

As we’ve reported, the space they are vacating in South Riding is scheduled to be taken over by a new location of Sense of Thai, a popular Thai restaurant at One Loudoun in Ashburn.

Besides the South Riding location, the company has two other local Ford’s outlets — one in Ashburn and one in Lansdowne.

The owners of Ford’s Fish Shack are hoping to have their new location ready to open its doors sometime in early 2024.
