Construction on Sprouts Farmers Market in Leesburg could start early 2024

Progress is being made on plans to bring Loudoun County its first Sprouts Farmers Market location. The store is coming to the Battlefield Shopping Center in Leesburg.

The Burn broke the news about Sprouts back in August. The healthy and organic food grocery store is taking over roughly 24,700 s.f. of what used to be the Stein Mart department store.

As we’ve reported, the other 12,000 s.f. that used to be Stein Mart is slated to be a new Boot Barn store.

Now The Burn has learned that a rough target for the start of construction on Sprouts is January 2024.

According to plans for the store, there will be features that include a Meals-to-Go section, a warmer where freshly roasted chickens are available, plus a cheese “island” and a bread “gondola.”

There will be fresh produce tables, bulk coffee bins, and display cases with meats, specialty seafoods, and sushi.

No official date yet when Sprouts Farmers Market will open in Leesburg, but if construction starts in January, we would likely be looking at a mid-year opening if all goes smoothly.
