The Human Bean drive-thru coffee shop opening second Loudoun location

It looks like the folks in the Stone Ridge and South Riding areas of southern Loudoun will soon have a new place to get their caffeine fix. A new drive-thru coffee shop called The Human Bean is in the works.

Dulles District Supervisor Matt Letourneau shared the news today on social media. According to his post, The Human Bean will take a spot near the intersection of Highway 50 and Gateway Village Place.

As The Burn has reported previously, an Arbys restaurant is currently under construction at that site and we’ve known a second business was also coming to the spot. It’s been a wait-and-see to find out who it was. Now, we know it’s The Human Bean.

The company got its start back in 1998 out in Oregon and now has locations spread across the country.

Just about a year ago right now, the first Human Bean in Virginia opened in Sterling at the Guilford Station development off Church Road.

The Human Bean offers a drive-thru and a walk-up window for customers, but there is no inside dining room or coffee shop.

The brand’s menu features all your usual coffeehouse beverages, plus some types unique to the Bean. Plus they have shake-like coffee drinks, smoothies, and energy drinks.

Some locations — including the one in Sterling — also have a food menu featuring baked goods as well as some hot breakfast and lunch sandwiches. You can check out The Human Bean menu here.

No word on when the new Human Bean location in Loudoun will open, but we can tell you that construction usually goes rather quickly. The brand uses a pre-built structure for its drive-thru coffeeshop that is trucked to the location and lowered onto the foundation by a big crane.
