Ashburn’s Bourbon Bayou Kitchen closes, Ambiance coming next

A big change underway at the former Bourbon Bayou Kitchen in Ashburn. We say former because the restaurant closed last week and is now undergoing renovations for a new restaurant to take its place.

The new place will be called Ambiance. It will be a combination nightly restaurant and special events banquet hall. It’s located in the Ashbrook Marketplace shopping center near Route 7 and Ashburn Village Bouelvard.

In recent months, Bourbon Bayou has been hosting regular comedy shows with comedians from around the country. These shows proved so successful, the owners decided to go all in.

Ambiance will offer a nightly menu of Mediterranean fusion food as well as an ever-changing line-up of musical and comedy acts reflecting a wide variety of styles and cultures.

The restaurant will also be available for private bookings such as birthday parties, wedding receptions, bar and bat mitzvahs, corporate events and the like. When special events are booked, the restaurant will be closed to the general public.

Bourbon Bayou opened two years ago — in January 2022 — with a menu focused on Louisiana-style cuisine.

Since the restaurant was relatively new, the work for the new Ambiance space is mostly upgrading the sound system and some light refreshing of decor.

If all goes smoothly, we’re told Ambiance is aiming for a March 1 opening.
