Train to Mumbai approaching the station in Lovettsville

An update today on the new Train to Mumbai restaurant coming to Lovettsville. Construction is well underway inside, the sign has gone up outside, and the owners tell us they are aiming to open next month.

Train to Mumbai is a new restaurant touting its speciality as: “real Indian street food, made from scratch.”

It’s coming to the Lovettsville Square commercial development in the town in northwestern Loudoun County. It will be just a few doors down from the new Lovettsville Cooperative Market that recently opened.

Train to Mumbai says its a “Farm Indian Kitchen” — and some of the menu items will reflect ingredients sourced locally including a George Mill Goat Cheese Kulcha.

There are also Onion & Kale Fritters, Slow Braised Lamb Curry, Sweet & Sour Eggplant, and a heavenly sounding Truffle Ghee Naan. You can check out the current version of the Train to Mumbai menu here.

The “conductors” at Train to Mumbai are hoping to be ready to open the doors by early March, if all goes smoothly.

Meanwhile, a new Mexican restaurant was also slated to come to the center, but no update on that future tenant.
