Work underway on new Bob’s Discount Furniture in Sterling

Shoppers in the Dulles Eastern Plaza retail center in Sterling have likely seen the activity underway at the old Bed, Bath & Beyond space. Construction crews are turning it into a new Bob’s Discount Furniture.

The front facade of BB&B has been removed and it’s currently covered with plywood. A small-ish banner announcing the future Bob’s store hangs in the middle.

Inside, the 35,000 s.f. space has been gutted as new utilities, new walls, new lighting, and more will be installed to fit the furniture store’s needs.

The Burn broke the new last August that Bob’s was taking over the space vacated Bed, Bath & Beyond when that company closed its stores nationwide.

The Bob’s brand is based in Connecticut and was launched more than 30 years ago. Today, they have roughly 170 stores in two dozen states spread across the country.

There are several Bob’s Discount Furniture locations in other communities around Northern Virginia, but this will be the first store in Loudoun County.
