Spitz in Leesburg holds ribbon cutting ahead of grand opening

The new Spitz Mediterranean Street Food restaurant in Leesburg has finally reached the finish line — a year and a half after it was first announced.

The restaurant will open tomorrow — Friday, March 22 — at the Village at Leesburg. This will be the first east coast location for the brand which has so far been centered in the west and midwest.

Today, we got our first look inside the space as local leaders met with the restaurant owner and representatives from Spitz’s national HQ. A ceremonial ribbon was cut.

The Spitz menu is filled with doner wraps and loaded fries as well as wraps, gyros, bowls, and salads — all featuring Mediterranean-inspired ingredients and flavors.

They also have a vegan menu and a bar menu. The restaurant is fast-casual style — where you order at a counter and your food is brought out to you. You can check out the official Spitz menu here.

It’s a big deal for the local franchisee and owner of the Leesburg location to get to the grand opening — he ran into a number of roadblocks and delays during the build out of the new restaurant.

But now the big day is here. They are offering various opening specials on Friday and Saturday. Doors unlock at 11 a.m.
