Loudoun County is getting a new French brasserie

More big news coming out of the Cascades Marketplace shopping center in Sterling. A new French-style brasserie is in the works — and it’s coming from a team with serious creditials.

Brasserie Royale will take over the roughly 2,500 s.f. space left vacant when the Corner Bakery closed in 2019.

The space is located right next door to the popular Local Provisions restaurant and that’s not coincidental. It’s the team from Lo Pro that is opening the new French restaurant.

Plans call for a Parisian-style corner restaurant with outdoor seating lining the sidewalk just like restaurants do in the French capital.

While the menu hasn’t been solidified yet, diners can expect dishes like Steak Frites, a lox-style Smoked Salmon, and house-baked brioche and baguette breads.

There will also be a full bar and homemade French desserts and pastries.

The former Corner Bakery space at Cascades Marketplace that will become Brasserie Royale.

The folks behind Brasserie Royale say it will still be a comfortable, neighborhood restaurant, but it offer a more refined level of service making the restaurant ideal for date nights and special occasions.

The key elements will be high quality local ingredients, simplicity, and a menu that changes with the seasons.

The deal for the space was just signed, so no firm opening date yet. We’re told they are targeting January of 2025 if all goes according to plan.

As The Burn has been reporting, Cascades Marketplace is undergoing a renaissance. The ball got rolling when Local Provisions opened there in early 2023.

Since then, the landlords have signed deals with three additional restaurants — Shake Shack, Taco Bamba and CHIKO — to come into the center. And now Brasserie Royale.
