Foster’s Grille opening new Loudoun County location

Foster’s Grille, the regional restaurant brand known for its burgers and wings, is opening a new location in Loudoun County. It will mark a return to the area for the Northern Virginia-based company.

The Burn has learned that Foster’s Grille is coming to a vacant spot in the South Riding Market Square shopping center. That’s the Home Depot/Giant anchored center just south of Highway 50 off Loudoun County Parkway.

This is the same center getting the new First Watch restaurant, which is taking over the former Ruby Tuesday building. (See our reports on First Watch here.)

The specific spot for Foster’s Grille is a roughly 4,000 s.f. space that used to be a PetValu pet supply store. It’s across the street from the Ford’s Fish Shack location and next door to the Moe’s Southwest Grill.

Foster’s Grille is a regional chain based here in Haymarket. It specializes in burgers, wings and sandwiches like Philly cheesesteaks and chicken sandwiches. Sides include cheese fries and onion rings — all served up in a casual setting. You can check out the full Foster’s Grille menu here.

There are currently 11 Foster’s Grille locations, according to the company’s website. Eight are in Virginia, two are in Maryland and there’s one location in Florida.

This marks a return to the area for the brand. There was at least one Foster’s Grille in Loudoun previously — in Ashburn at the Shoppes at Ryan Park plaza — but it closed around 2012.

The folks at Foster’s Grille HQ said they are excited to open the new South Riding location. Some work has to be done on the space and right now, they are targeting an April 2022 opening. However, that could slide a little depending on how quickly equipment and supplies arrive. They are currently accepting applications for a general manager and assistant managers.

You mean the Foster’s location in Ashburn that closed permanently in the middle of the night and employees found out by reading the notice on the door?
