Nautical Bowls signs deal for first Loudoun County location

Nautical Bowls, a fast-growing brand of açai bowl shops, has signed a deal for its first location in Loudoun County. It will be coming to the Lansdowne Town Center shopping plaza.

Nautical Bowls is going to take over the space that was formerly occupied by Qwench, a juice and smoothie shop that coincidentally also had açai bowls on the menu.

Qwench — which was located in a corner unit opposite Deli Italiano — closed its doors this past March after roughly 18 months in business.

According to the Nautical Bowls website, the brand currently has 46 stores open across the country. The only one in Virginia open is down in Lynchburg, but more are in the works.

The menu at Nautical Bowls is focused on açai bowls — both already curated bowls and build-your-own bowls.

Bases include mango, coconut, açai and other flavors that you then top with seeds, crumbles, fruits, drizzles, and more. You can check out the full Nautical Bowls menu here.

The deal to move into the Lansdowne Town Center is brand new, so no official word yet on when the local owners hope to open the shop.

The Burn has been reporting a lot about açai bowls of late. They are one of the hot trends in franchised restaurants right now.

Recently, an açai bowl brand called South Block opened at the One Loudoun center in Ashburn. And The Burn has also reported that another brand called Rush Bowls is actively seeking store locations in Loudoun and Northern Virginia.
